I went there today and talked to one of the women there that I usaully do, and told her what happened. She said the same thing that was said in the email I received. She didn't like having them there, and said other people didn't like seeing them either. It looks like they sold a couple since I was there, but now, there are about 10 that will probably never find a home. All is well between myself and the store, but people are still tattooing fish!

I experienced an almost identical situation with one my lfs'. They said lots of people voiced their negative opinion about them and they weren't going to sell them anymore. I have never seen tatooed fish in that store since. Give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

its up to u... i would still carouse the selection of fish, but maybe i just wouldnt help the business in the future, and not buy anything unless i needed it that badly..make the store ur last on the list fish store.

Let them slide. The best fish store I've ever been to had a similar thing happen. They let someone who never ordered fish before make the order, and they got one of those fish in. I voiced my opinion, and before I was done I heard "I agree". That reinforced my thought that they're the best around. They almost lost a lot of business from me and the people that I refer to them, but they held to their word and have never had an altered fish since then.

In the end, it's the consumers fault that the tattooed fish exist.

I agree also, a simular thing happened at one of my favs.

We've had similar situations at work as well. Nothing like the random, unexpected fish we didn't order lol.

The real question is "do they carry the fish frequently?"
