I'm not trying to be an ass to the op but these threads pop up everyday so i dont see the need for them anymore. Everyone knows the jag is a bad ass fish and oscars can be too just dont need thses threads anymore. You could search for these threads and it would probly take a fews hours to go through them all. All big cichlids are badasses in their own right doesnt matter who can kill who it should be about trying to get these fish to live together without problems.

Ive only kept Jack Dempsey and Oscars so idk how jaguars are. But out of an Oscar and Dempsey the same size, how would the Oscar win? Both the same size yet the Dempsey has teeth....maybe my Dempsey is just aggressive compared to others.

I don't understand the guys who care about how tough their fish is. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't make your penis bigger than the other guy. People keep fish for their personalities and beauty. Guys who turn this into a penis fight really are in the hobby for the wrong reasons.

I am all about trying to do everything in my power to NOT have any of my fish fight!!!

With that said, I have experienced many instances in fish aggression amoung my cichlids and I have found that none of the three mentioned species would I consider "tough" fish. Dovi, Cuban, Hornet & Nile Tilapia are TOO agressive to keep with these fish. PERIOD! The Pike cichlids are serious attitudes also!

I have two Oscars (Red & Tiger) with a jaguar all ~ the one foot mark and less then no aggression between them. My avatar EBJD is with a similar sized Lemmon Oscar cichlid and again no agression between them! My Cuban @ 7" of Dovi @ 6", I would not consider housing with these relatively peaceful cichlids for cripes sake.

On a side note, why not start a poll about what is more bad ass, a fathead minnow or a molly? I vote the fathead!
