Jack Dempsey was pretty tough in his day, but I don't think he could take out a jaguar. And Oscar is out of the question, he's not really tough, just grouchy.

for the record, who ever said that they were going to do this? too many people are posting negative comments when all it is, is a conversation... all you need to say is "your not planning to do this, are you" and THEN start yelling at them IF they say they will do it!

From my observations having had these fish at different times and never fighting them, their "toughness" in order would be
Jag
Jack D.
Oscar.
Not that it really matters, they are all great fish.

in terms of capability the oscar winning is out of the question. out of the jack dempsey and jaguar it depends on the fish. ive had my jacks beat up my jags pretty good and vice versa

i would say jag for mean and oscar for tough, i have seen oscars hold there own against dovii at the lfs, before i told them to take the dovii out of the tank. but a jag is just plain mean if it wants to be.

I don't understand the guys who care about how tough their fish is. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't make your penis bigger than the other guy. People keep fish for their personalities and beauty. Guys who turn this into a penis fight really are in the hobby for the wrong reasons.

LMAO who brought penis into this thread! anyways. i own 2 oscars. yes there wussys of the fish world ( some can be mean ) mine are laid back and i wouldnt see myself owning a jag with my oscars for one main reason, my oscars would get the buttuck chumped up to pieces! my oscars are with 1 severum ( green ) 7 roseys, 1 platy ( got rid of 3 today ) bunch of baby swordtails ( got rid of the parents today ) 10 or so juvi guppys ( were intended for the oscars but only about 10 or so survived ) and my oscars leave everyone alone, only thing they do is pick up gravel and take out fake plants to put to there liking ( just recently started doing this so im happy there starting to reach maturaity ) on the other side of the divider i have a pair of cons with about 20 or so almost 2 month old frys. i wouldnt dare to let the divider go as the cons will kill my oscars easly.
