that is a good retail price for one that size IMO

That's an incredible price. Maybe it depends on where you're located and the availability but I've seen polleni in the six to eight inch range go for $70 to $80.

http://s101.photobucket.com/albums/m67/rickscics/?action=view&current=P5280008.flv I have been breeding Paratilapia Pololini small spot east coast madagascar for a number of years. My fish parents were out of the original group that was at the New Jersey Aquarium. Some were released to individual fishkeepers. I find them to be a wonderfull fish to keep in a community tank and contrary to many peoples comments I find them to be the most cordial of fish.
I have not found them to be aggressive except Perhaps to their own species.
I have included a short video of a small pair with eggs. I have a lot of these available here in SO CAL. two inches and up. If anyone is interested I can ship.
These fish are registered with the American Cichlid Associantion C.A.R.E.S project as and endangered species. I have a few other videos of adults I can post. Thanks RIck

Great info and experiences all! Here's a more recent pic of mine...it's a small spot, yes?

Can someone please help me sex?

Right now I have him (her?) in with some community fish and no problems yet -- I think he (she?) is too busy looking for snacks to cause trouble...by far the most aggressive eater I have!

Thanks!

I have a Poleni male . Ihave had him for exactly 1 year. Got him @ 2" , now he is 10".
He has a great personality but he can be quite aggressive with his tank mates.
