No one knows how big p. bichir bichir get. Japan seems to get varied sizes every year. Maybe around 30" in captivity or smaller. 180g would be best.

Yea, that is what I was thinking you should of got in the first place. They get about 8-10 inches and have very narrow mouths. They might try to eat your fish but will have a hard time swallowing them. Cool looking fish, but try and getting it on pellets....ha
Mine only ate bloodworms and earthworms. I had a tiretrack eel. Awesome fish.
 
Yeah I feed mt fish bloodworms frozen =]]And daphnia ad flake and algae and discus food =]]LOL
 
id say the poly would eat everything you have but i have 3 in a 150g with severums,frontosa,plecos etc and there are even baby sevs like 2" in there and my 13" ornate my 10" retro and my 7 inch albino dont bother any of them...my ornate could easily eat everything in there.. but i only feed him pellets...hes also about 2inch thick. but id think cories and small loaches would look like a snack to them. but i think larger cichlids would do good.

and also i couldnt amagine my poly's living happily in a 55g...
