  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I say you go for it. Fatten it up too once you do!
But it will outgrow a 75... Maybe if you kept it by itself or upgraded to a 6 footer at least.

Very true with enough time and proper diet

So that said, how long would it take? I do intend to upgrade in the future but at this time it's simply not an option. In maybe 6 months I'd be able to get a 6 footer. I almost feel as though I ought to grab this guy because he's currently being housed in a 20 high with gouramis and 2 tiger botias (both about 4")

Also, in terms of diet for these guys, sinking carnivore pellets?

I would take quite a long time for him to reach max potential. Just figure grow to be about an inch per month and then slowing down at a certain point. Sinking pellets if great.

K so I think it's established that this guy will need a 6 footer in approximately 10 months at the latest (he's 8" now, at an inch per month he'd be 18" in 10 months).

Since he's too big for the oscar to eat, would this be an acceptable tankmate? My oscar ignores my L106 (4") completely.

Just making absolutely sure before I pull the trigger.
