K so I think it's established that this guy will need a 6 footer in approximately 10 months at the latest (he's 8" now, at an inch per month he'd be 18" in 10 months).

Since he's too big for the oscar to eat, would this be an acceptable tankmate? My oscar ignores my L106 (4") completely.

Just making absolutely sure before I pull the trigger.

Should be fine with the oscar, i wouldnt risk putting the pleco with it though

Its possible, i had one try it on my first ornate and one of buddys had one going after his rays. Just not worth the risk in my opinion

I wouldn't even hesitate on buying it. Once it gets to 12 or 13 inches its growth rate will slow considerabley especially a CB lap. It'll go great with your Oscar and i haven't had any issues with Plecos. If youre worried about it just make sure the Pecos is well fed and then it won't bother anybody.

Yes, IMO it looks like a captive bred Lap.
You shouldnt expect anywhere near 24" for that one, 12"- 18" is more likely.
As for the Oscar, I have kept a 45cm monster Oscar in with Bichirs of various sizes for years with no problems.

The Plecoptera could be trouble though.

Good to know for sure in regards to both the oscar's relationship with the bichir and the fact that I should at least keep my eyes on my pleco.

Pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger in a couple days... polys don't move very fast around here so I can afford to wait till the guy I know at the store is back from his vacation so I can get my price :)
