Poly tank and friends

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I only have one black wolf. They don't get along with other hoplias very well let alone another black. But I have a gold wolf with it. They don't act aggressive towards the bichirs at all. The black actuallly acts like a guard dog when it comes to the bichirs. When I put anything close to them he flares at me and gets in front of them. He'll come from across the whole tank if need be. When I got him he was 8" a lot of my fish were half his size. Bichirs were the only thin he didn't snack on. He can eat the ornate easily and can even eat he weeksii and lap if he really wanted. But he's peaceful with them, bichirs are the only fish I've found him to not bother, no matter the size or species he leaves them alone. Tried catching the endli yawning but was to late, curu started flaring. View attachment 1215894

You should, you have more nicer bichirs and pbass than mine, i was planning to get a pbass but scared they might eat the sd when they are full grown.
Thanks. If you do get into bass, you should get a kelberi bass

You'll have to worry about bichirs and wolves too. Only got a pic of the endli attempting it. They can live through a bichir bight, but the black bites them in half. IMG_2416.JPG

On another note, I don't want to derail this thread unless you wish to, but if you'd like, make a thread in the other characins forum and you can get my experience and others as well.

I was really planning to get pbass as my top swimmer,
But the ones they sell at my lfs are small, probably if my project of putting 6 pink tail chalceus together fails, then ill try pbass, cause so far the bala shark experiment failed already. Ill need to get a seperate growout tank if i want to get a pbass or bala shark unless i can find a 7" for sale.

Ive actually seen my endli tried to eat the SD so many times, its just that the endli cant swallow it and decide to spit it out, SD are really hardy fish even with bite marks in the head they still survive like nothing happen. I will try to ask question on that forum, ill need to learn more about pink tail and SD's.
