if i was to have located at least one presumed polypterus ansorgii, hes in the hands of a reputable seller, that i and many others would trust with theyre lives ,and was about to pay $500 for it, after i recieve pictures of the actual fish and confirm the identity fo course

what would you say? did i just strike gold or am i overpaying?

hoping to get a little feedback here as to what i should do...........

what would you say?Kinda depends on how bad ya want it I assume its from Toyin

did i just strike gold or am i overpaying? Considering the rarity and the fact its wild caught
Like I said above it depends on how bad ya want it.

I know its not much help

ya its toyin, and i love bichirs, and any opportunity to get any amazing fish like that, espesailly a bichir is too good to pass up. im pretty sure that once im sure that it is indeed an ansorgii ill buy at least 1.
just wanted to see what the rest of the bichir community thought about it.....

If it blows your hair back, who cares what it cost? The first of anything, in this hobby, is going to be pricy. Believe me, when they bury you, someone will have gone through your pockets for loose change. May as well spend it now on things you enjoy.

If you truly want it? Then buy it... but for yourself. not for anybody else!
As long as confirmed as P. ansorgii... i say, go for it! (but don't listen to me?!!) :D Seriously tho, a fish is worth whatever a person is willing to pay for it ;)

ya, it just feels right, ive never had a chance like this..... to own sumhing truly unique,

and like u said oddball, we are ]v[onster fish keepers after all right? whats half a G if its for an awsome fish....

too bad i dont have a little more cash, i could try breedin them.:grinno:

I know the first one to enter the U.S. fetched more than $500. It's really your call.

i saw pics of the first one after it settled in >>>> absolutely stunning fish!!!

if you can afford it and you want it = go for it.
