Polypterus for 180G

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Haha, I have no Idea. As I stated in my first post, I am a TOTAL NEWB at Poly's!

As far as tankmates go, I was thinking possibly an African Arowana, I think it would look amazing along with the polys.

I think I'd be alot better off not getting Polys, and just getting a Jardini... although I would like two platinum senegals, Its not going to Happen with a Jar, and I want a Jar pretty bad. So, probably wont be getting any Polys.

you could always get a 150gallon for the jar and have the 180 for the rest lol!

Haha, Theres no room for another tank. Thats the whole reason I got the 180, its the biggest tank I can put upstairs without damage happening to my house, and still having room.

I was orginally going to build a 375 for 4 black arowanas and one silver arowana, along with two motoro rays, but the plan fell threw as there is no space at this house. But possibly in a year or two there will be room for a real monster tank.

But right now thr biggest tank is 180 gallons. So its either a Jar, or polys. And Its probably going to be Jar.

I have more then one tank(55g african cichlids two large plec's, 35g breeder cons) But I wouldnt out a Poly in either of those tanks. I think I'm going to get a Jar though.

why not get a black aro? imo they require the same size tank as a jar and then u could have tankmates. or u could not get aros and get some dats or oscars, or other cichlids. i wouldn get a jar tho because i think a tank with one fish would get boring. besides, in a 180 u could get lots of polys and theyr such awesome fish

do you have room downstairs for something like a 75? you could do a few plat senegals in there and get theb jar in the 180.
or is that too out of the question?
