bichirs 2 reasons as they mature jars have a reputation as becoming very agressive
towards other tankmates. And i prefer the more primitive look of bichirs plus they
generaly tolerate tankmates better-Anne
I agree with Anne. Also why not keep both because the jar stays at the top and the bichirs at the bottom?

Arowanas are more interesting to me when they grow they develop diff pattern/color/looks its looks cool but bichirs can be with jardinis i have them both
but Arowanas FTW

I'm going to go with the jardini as well. I have both but if I had to chose I'd keep my Jar:)

I like bichirs. They are from Africa, look awesome and get along with fish that arent too small.

Well i did say i would keep both but if i did have to choose i would pick a jar. You should ask in both sections since this is the polypterus forum it will be somewhat biased towards that.

i have never had a jardini, but imo although they are cool fish they're not that great. usually i've seen people only keeping one. never really understood the obsession with arrowanas anyway(no offense)

bichirs always. they have such a primitive look to them, many variations and species, generally can keep multiple different sp.

i also have to admit i like when people see them and are like "what the hell is that", rather than "oh thats a pretty fish";)

im obessed b/c i got every arowana species together except asian arows

arowanas to me are better b/c more active then bichirs, bichirs just sit like rocks so boring and arowanas are more fast at eating there prey and there more predatory
