I just got some eggs from one of our breeding pairs for the first time (got two breeding pairs). Have got 10eggs in a plastic container with a airpump, the rest fell down in the sand.

What do we do now with the eggs?

No sorry I´m new here...

You might want to PM some folks in the polypterus section. I find it amazing you managed to get two breeding pairs of Ornates. Very exciting I bet!

I'd think that an egg tumbler like those used with cichlids would be appropriate. The first thing I'd do is treat the water with an anti-fungal agent like Methylene blue and add an air stone to keep the water moving.

Yes I thinks amazing also to have two breeding pairs! :)

Here is a short film on the other breeding pair (they are now in a separate tank):

This is not the first time they spawn, they have been doing it for at least 4-5months, first it was the biggest male with the biggest female. But after a while he changed to a smaller female and at one point he spawned with both females at the same time!! If that wasn't enough, both males spawned with two females at the same time in the same tank!!! :nilly:

Very cool i wish mine would pair up,i thought they were at one point but nothings come of it.
What do you do to start them off, lower the temp and ph or ?

Steve

We do nothing!! Just changes the water once a month or so. Changes about half and puts in a little colder water... maby a degree colder.
