I would say do more water changes but doesnt seem like its a problem what are your parameters ph nitrite,nitrate ammonia etc?

This is not the first time they spawn, they have been doing it for at least 4-5months, first it was the biggest male with the biggest female. But after a while he changed to a smaller female and at one point he spawned with both females at the same time!! If that wasn't enough, both males spawned with two females at the same time in the same tank!!! :nilly:

Amazing to see courting behavior in bichirs! Reminds me of the way snakes court - the male rubbing his head all over the female's body. Good luck with the spawn.
 
Congrats, thats awesome. How big are the breeding pairs? I would be interested in parameters maybe something there is putting them in the mood :) , or maybe you just happen to have some very sexy irresistable guys and gals in the tank.

They are about 45-50cm....

I have NO idea what the parameters are, but i know that the water is hard from our well and rich in lime (calcareous?)
