Does anyone know of anybody/programs working on Polypterus taxonomy? It seem like it's time for some revision. Why hasn't anyone broken down at least the upper/lower jaw thing? If nobody else is, maybe I'll make a project outta this... Just need to get my hands on some good specimens. No promises, just speculation and questions now...

A woman who is both a mod and loves bichir, what else can a man ask for? If you are into sports as well, I will propose to you on the spot :D

Ralf Britz only recently described P. teugelsi in 2004.

Are you suggesting that lower jaws get a seperate genus? Is there any reason to do that?
