Does anyone know of anybody/programs working on Polypterus taxonomy? It seem like it's time for some revision. Why hasn't anyone broken down at least the upper/lower jaw thing? If nobody else is, maybe I'll make a project outta this... Just need to get my hands on some good specimens. No promises, just speculation and questions now...

heres a link from the past regarding the upper/lower jaw issue. the gist is that there isn't enough morphological differences to justify a split in the genus level. anyway its not a long thread. take a look.
