Polypterus weeksii or congicus?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my weeksi is still 5.5 inches after 2 years. It's WC I believe.

Tough choice, having both of course I say get both. That said and tank permitting I would lean to Weeksii as cong seem more common these days IMO And have such tremendous bulk when large As for growth rates as stated all ready it depends on the fish. Some Weeksii may be slow growers however mine was one of the fastest growing Bichir I have owned. Went from 9" to 22" in just over 2 years

Best part of your choice is both options are great!!!!

We need an update of your awesome collection! :D

Ya it has been awhile, still sore from the loss of my giant ornate last year. New grow out is around 14 " but skinny. Some time this fall I will get some good pics and update. I suspect the Weeksii past 23" but need to get a good measurement

To the OP post when you get

Imo Weeksi arent as slow compared to mokes. but my weeksi's grow at a standard rate. Congicus grow pretty fast. Atm i have 3 and they eat ALOT same with my weeksi's. Imo Both are good and great eaters!

The store also sells WC upper jaw polys but I'm choosing between the ones I can keep with my future stock :D Theyre selling WC 24" Teugs and damn are they pretty. Pretty expensive too lol.

As for my choice.. Gonna stick with my decision of bringing enough money to get one of them and choose the best looking poly :D Any more suggestions why I should choose one over the other? Again gonna be homed with a lap, 2 endlis, and an ornate. Thanks guys!
