Polyuranadon Thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wanna add one of these wavemakers into my aquarium, as the loaches would benefit from the current.

But, I'm concerned one of the morays will get into the wavemaker propeller and get shredded. What you guys think??

encase the entire thing in some type of durable, water-proof, rust-proof screen.......fibery fabric-ish type of mesh....stuff

^ I agree with frank, if you could somehow cover the open are with a mesh type material then i would say go for it, otherwise, i'm not sure its worth risking your eels since they would most likely go head first into the propeller and potentially really mess their head up...

Yeah, prob wait to purchase a wavemaker when the eels get to 25"+. I don't want to wrap the round sides and the front of the wavemaker. Already have my overflow and output nozzle capped with plastic mesh.

Does anyone know of a source for these in the US? I have one, but would like to get a couple more.

I got my eels from Wes, of Rare Fish. Not sure if he has anymore. I know Homer gets his from LFS in HK.

So did I but he hasn't had any for several months. We speak regularly.

Just post a wanted sales thread, you might get a hit. They appear to ship very well.

If i was competent enough and able to, i'd happily ship some to you if i could find some here...

But dont think there are any left at the store? Although im heading out that difection today so might have a look and see...

Ha ha..... I contacted Wes. He has some 2 & 3 ft ones. Out of my price range. He has in his personal collection but offered to me. A three ft one would be awesome!

Yeah...I also inquired a while back about the huge ones..was shocked at the price range. Guess they are much more valuable at these large sizes! Wes is a great guy, can't wait for his next stocklist.
