im gonna be puttin a pond in my backyard for my mom for christmas and i wanted to put some cool fish in it..........i live on the east coast of florida......what would be some good fish other than the typical koi???

there are many fish you can put in pending how far south in florida that you are... just to name a few of what we had we had a few Plecos.. a p bass caught local oscars and a few texas...but there are many others you could have...tip make the pond BIG and keep it out of direct sunlight
good luck :)

What is the plan for a pond? Plan, plan, plan before you do anything. Other than that, go fishing and see what you can find!

it's just to much sun could make your water turn green... just add lots of lillypads to help shade it ..if u don't mind getting dirty get the pads from the canals

Get a UV sterilizer and then you won't have green water

i think i have a uv sterilizer laying around actually from my other pond that didnt end up needing it............but what kind of fish would be good for the temperature becaus i dont really want to buy a heater?

Do natives. bluegill would be the best, they learn very quickly to come to you at feeding time. also mosquito fish to keep the skeeters down and to partially feed anything else.
Go as big as you can so you don't have to try to expand it later on.
