Does anyone know the proper heater to heat a 480 gallon outdoor cichlid pond?
All the heaters I can find are supposed to just de-ice the water.

Also, does anyone know if the tetra pond biofilters come with a pump?

anyone?
I really need to know how to heat this thing.

hey blake.
In my pond I dont have a heater and all my cichlids and pacu are fine, the main thing you need is a UV sterolizer...

Your cichlids will be fine, trust me

oh,

well then look into hot water heaters at homedepot.. the same kind for heating the shower, I was going to get the 4 gallon tower. I think It was only about 280... I dunno though..

Your going to need about 1400 watts of heater. I suggest multiple submersible heaters int the sump/filter.

The water heater is viable but tricky as they normally don't have a low enough setting and I would go with a 40g one, instant heaters are harder to compensate for as you need a holding/mixing tank for them.
