Are there any submersable heaters that are ok being outside?

I used 2 submersible EHEIM heaters during the cold nights we had Jan/Feb a few nights went to high 40s which from what I heard is rare and roughly 14 nights were lower than 60 but either way I had each set at 70 degrees as felt that was fine for night (swordtails, mollies, platys, kuhli loaches)both are 200 watts both ponds I used it in are 60 gallons worked great .
I cant fathom any submersible heater not working unless its a junk brand heater . The heater you posted doesnt seem to have heat control by pond "heater" they might mean simply not freezing.

if the pond is buried or partially it holds heat in that much better and BOTH my ponds are uncovered yet heaters worked great granted warmer within a foot of heater and the fish had accumulated there during the nights it was in 40s but not a single loss no ich, etc.

i put a de icer in mine as well as three 3 hundred watt heaters but then i am not trying to heat the water much over 50 55 degrees in the winter

Yes.

I suggest multiples for redundancy (should one die), but at that price you could have two.

Cool.
never knew de-icers worked as heaters. :D
Wouldn't 2 overheat the water?

The thermostat has a separate temperature probe that goes in the water and the heater is connected to the thermostat control circuit. Simular to the thermostat in a home.

Sweet.
Thanks man.Sorry, one last question, seeing as i want to be sure i'm doing this right.
Where can I get an outdoor grade thermostat?

Along with commercial duty thermostats, I've also used hot tub thermostats (you can use the small heater too, but it will cost you).

Most aquarium thermostats only handle 300w max.
