Pond Help please!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
just get a pond liner and build a 2x4 frame with some plywood. easy and whatever size you want it to be. yes the insulation on the pond is necessary. unless your garage stays within a couple degrees variation all year long.

I second that emotion....

Insulate everything. The wood frame w/liner will be much eaiser to work with. Opposed to a bulky round pool. As much as I love rubbermaids, they too are bulky and awkward at times.

Even if its just a summer pond? I want to supplant the power bill part that is going to running multiple large tanks with the power used for AC lol

If it's just summer camp then go w/a rubbermaid. I was thinking this was a more permanate build.

i like the way you put that, "summer camp!" hahahaha

only problem is how hot does your garage get in the summer? you may still want insulation to keep temp down.

yeah thats another thing I was wondering, and I was told that fan would help dissapate some of the heat.

use 2 fans one pointing out, and one pointing in at the surface of the water.

I don't have my own pond......yet.

but I'm thinking the 2x4 frame with a liner might be your cheapest bet. Then you can just put insulation inside that frame, drop the liner in, and get your pond on. you can really make the dimensions whatever you want.

Yeah, I have been brainstorming about something cheap and easy with 2x4s and a plastic liner.
