pond liner thickness

Id have to disagree. It will last atleast 30 years Seriously if you buy a 45 mil. Firestone EPDM liner, it comes with a 30 year warranty against "UV light and "Normal Wear and Tear"".

how about the 60 mil? how long do they last?

20 years is a safe number... Yea they will last 30+ years if taken care of. I've never used 60 mil. The only time I could see using it would be on a very large pond (acres, 100k+ gals.) Commercial applications on a huge scale.

Obviously the thicker the better but the most important thing to keep in mind is to go for rubber not plastic. Plastic liner is far cheaper but you'll pay for it in the long run, it's not UV resistant and can't be patched or repaired, so when it becomes brittle and leaks you'll have to tear up the whole thing and start over. You can get 5 - 10 years average out of plastic.
Rubber can be patched if you get a leak so you don't have to replace the lot. We have Firestone EPDM rubber liner (like what Kobeclone mentioned earlier) that is guaranteed for 20 + years.
We wouldn't sell/use anything less than 1.2mm thick.
