Pond/tank build 15 feet by 3 feet

What type of heating system did you use for that tank??? in the process of a big build of my own. if you could PM that would be great. That tank looks awesome. curious what your utilities bill is going to be having it stay warm all winter??

I will pm you the details. Tank should not cost anymore to keep warm then what I already had out there. My electric runs around $150 a month through the winter and that is running a 200 gallon system a garage pond and my koi pond pump but I have propane heat which helps on electric.

1. I am also very interested in how you are heating. Can you send me the details or just post them to the thread?

2. What pumps are you using? (They look like Sicce Syncro's). I'm looking for big submersible pumps so any details you can share would be awesome (are they loud, good flow, wattage draw, etc).

Your setup looks amazing. Very impressive.

Here are some pics taken today. It has been running and heating for about 15 hours and the temp went from 56 degrees to 79 degrees which I do not think is too bad considering it is 750 gallons. There are two inlet pipes because one is coming straight off of the filter and the other comes off the filter to the heater then to the tank. I did it this way so I can control the flow to the heater so I can maximize the heating of the water. I still have to tidy up some of the wiring.

Can you provide the name of the pumps you are running? I'm looking for a high flow submersible and those look like they fit the bill. Thanks!

Sorry have not checked back here in about a week. I am running viaaqua pumps model 8000. It runs 2200 gph max and only pulls 176 watts. They have a max head of 15 feet and only cost $80. I have owned several types of pumps and you can't beat them for the money. I have pondmasters in other systems and the mag 18 is a really good pump but pulls about the same watts and costs almost double. I also have a mag 24 that I moved to my koi pond outside because it is very noisey. You can get the viaaqua pumps at petsolution.com I will have to make up a diagram of my heating operation and post real soon as I have had lots of questions on it. It is 27 degrees out right now and I just check the tank and the water is 80 degrees on the nose and the air temp is 79.6 degrees.
