Pond under bunk bed?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I keep trying different things to get my 220 quite, I got it pretty quite now, not silent like a canister but the sound of water is about the level of very quite talking, not a wisper but not normally talking.

Id love to see that!

I have about 2-3 inches of water to fill on my tank and the HOB's splash the water in. I love hearing this to go to sleep :)

I think that it would work as long as it was properly ventilated and such. Mold-proof paint in the room like the paint that is used in bathrooms will help a ton, too.

i'd hate to be sleep walking off that bunk bed and waking up in a 250gallon tank

That sounds like something that I would do...

I have snake wrangled in my sleep before and, no, that's not a metaphor.

Don't roll into the pond or you'll be sleeping with the fishes..:hitting: (terrible pun I know)

Its like this: http://images3.backpage.com/imager/u/medium/18978353/MidSouthBunkBed_Tall_Loft.jpg (so nothing on the bottom)

haha tha would be freaking sweet! but question is, how old are you that you still have a bunk bed lol

Lol; the bed is currently on the floor like a normal bed. But time to time when I rearrange my room I build it up, so I can put my desk;etc. under it and save space in the room. Also I believe that being a girl allows you to have stuffed animals; etc. so a bunk bed should still be allowed =P (Freshman College) - Not to old... to not be able to explane a bunkbed. On a side note I can just say im studying gravity everytime I wake up and jump off the bed

Its going to be something like this: View attachment pond.bmp

Its shallow and fit to the dimensions to fit directly under the bed. Maybe about 20" tall- so there will be plenty of room for viewing.

As interesting as it sounds, i would probably say not a good idea? if its in college or any dorm kinda situation, since the was i see it is, chances are not only you, but possibly some of your friends could end up in the pond eventually and likely more than once after a long night out?

But i guess its up to you, maybe if you could raise it off the ground a bit more so its not as much of a tripping hazard?

^^ Still Highschool/College - So I still have my very own room till 2012 August
So no hazards will be around the tank.

I guess my main concern is the humidity of the room more than anything. Also since the tank has a good foot print and not just on one part of the floor- Will I have an issue with it being on the second floor? If I brace the bottom of the pond and also since its shallow.

Precautions that I will be taking:
Bracing the bottom of the pond
Truck bed liner (aquarium safe)
Pond liner on top of ^
Cushion between the bed liner and pond liner
Avoiding Plecos - Do royal plecos harm liners?
Debating Dehumidifier
Gutter guard over the top of the tank- Mainly so fish don't jump out... not really concerned about animals getting in as my door is closed when im not it the room
