Pooor RTC... Wish I could help it...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree with Necro, If you know what your doing when they have ammonia burns, It's pretty easy to get rid of. It's a lot of work to keep up with the water changes and figuring out the meds. I had a cat with it pretty badly and he healed up really fast.

that poor fish i hope it survives an someone with a large large tank takes it an looks after it, it looks almost as tho its been savaged by something

i literaly feel sick...
that poor thing...
it looks like it was kept in a 40 breeder, with a 120 gallon heater, no filter, and was there till it hit 30 inches...
poor thing...

When will LFS's learn that a RTC can be kept to adulthood by 0.05% of your average fish keeper/hobbyist, so sad. I saw 10 in a 55 at about an inch the other week at an LFS near me, what is there fate?

We don't know what the reason for this is, perhaps it's the death of the owner and noone else knew about them or something like that... Simply horrible condition though... those burns are serious
The LFS will be hard pressed to make their money back on these guys which is horrible they should be willing to negotiate down to almost nothing since these guys are in such horrible condition and no one will buy them for along time (means that they will have alot of money tied up in feeding them)

Bass is right, we don't know how the fish ended up there, I know the LFS didn't do it to the fish, as they weren't there on my visit before this time, and there wasn't enough time gap for the fish to get THAT bad.
If I could get the owner to negotiate, I would probably have one or two large rtc right now...

They'd be better off offering them for free, or as low as $50. I'd pick him up and try to help him out for $50. Going to take a while for that guy to be normal again. It's not impossible, and it could be rather quick for someone who knows what they are doing. Poor guy though! Come to necro!!!

I agree... If they would just give them to someone who could care for them it would be better for the fish, and for the LFS instead of them spending the money on trying to treat the fish... Or atleast have it out of sight while it's healing, and have it looking atleast half presentable before offering it for sale...
If they would have let the guy go to a good home for free or even $50... I would have him right now, trying to help him out...
