As with any type of buy and sell transaction, there is this caveat. "Buyer Beware". There is always an issue about having honest local fish stores (not chain stores), and the other kind (dishonest) fish store dealer. I know this particular fish store. I live about a good 15 minutes from it. I called them to ask if they have any available feeders. Over the phone, I recognize the voice as the owner of the store, and he told me to come on down, there are plenty for everyone. So I leave my house, and drove down there only to see all the feeder tanks empty. This guy had to nerve to laugh at my face. If I did not have a family to think of, I would've hurt this guy. I have not gone there since. But the previous owner of this store would have replaced the fish, with some cash. He told me he gave the fish to him at his cost. So no one loses. Some tips I use whenever I am buying new fish. I ask;
1) how long have you had these fish?
2) what are they eating?
3) what is he feeding?
After knowing the answers to the above, I make a decision to buy the fish. But ,that is after I've researched how to keep the particular fish. Monsterfishkeepers is the place to put all your questions. Because "we" have alot of experience in here.
Ornatapinnis, thats for the great input.
