Poor guy, i remember when i saw these kids at the beach spearing carp and beating them on the head with those mini baseball bats.

I didn't take the pic, one of my co-workers did. I think they did rescue it.

Correct me if I am wrong here......(I dont think I am) But in the US carp are 100% an introduced species. They are not native. The OP is in Michigan. In the US. Considered a pest fish, and doing nothing but harm for the native species.

We have native carp. They're called smallmouth and largemouth buffalo. They look very similar to introduced carp.

See, thats interesting. I did some research and everything I could find was that carp are an introduced specie, going back to 1877 when the first one were brought in. I was not able to find anything listing any type of carp as a native..... I guess I neeed to go back and read more...

Was all over CNBC one day...definitely should have killed it, considering it was an asian carp, but then again from a morality standpoint, it has its merits against it. How do you even kill a 3-4 foot CARP painlessly to begin with?

Actually these buffalo are not carp at all but are in sucker family while the carp are in minnow family.

Carp are native to many areas. We are more invasive as a species than any one species of carp has been. No reason to go killing creatures just because you don't like them. Except for indoor spiders. They can all die.

i agree, ppl destroy more then carp ever will, everyone seems to hate carp, i fished my whole life and never liked carp either till i learned how to catch them 2 summers ago, great hard fighting fish, hope tht big guy survived

I would have to say a pistol. Or 3 scripts of xanex down his belly.

I dont know if that would even bother that fish lol.
