The Cascades are awesome - excellent power, but frequent cleaning (which is a snap - just wash out the sponge filter insert)

(read: frequent cleaning, because they are so good)

No experience with the FLUVAL twin.

Try a normal sponge filter:)

I don't use sponge filters ANYMORE because I don't like having air pumps all over the place.

I have a sponge with small powerhead in my 30G and it works great.

:iagree: , Takes up a little space in the tank, but no air hoses.

Guys... ever notice the price on these Cascades?

$40 for a powerhead versus $20 for a Cascade filter? (Not the small ones, either.)

Hmmm...I think my delimma is that since there is such a small clearance, I want to get something that would also be easy to reach. That's why I was hoping a canister would work, just so I don't have to reach inside the tank. I'm going to put a Gulper Cat in it so I would like strong filteration.

In that case, a powerhead/sponge or an internal canister would fall under the same category.
I have put hang on back's on the sides of tanks - just have to figure out a new cover.
