1 per day I just think they got spoiled on hikari's sinking wafer pellets,but I feel that they are too small but they refuse any other food including flakes the wafers are what the lfs were feeding them

I wouldn't worry if they get hungry enough they will eat the other pellets.

I agree with all of Mr Lindsey's advice.However,I believe you will always have problems as the tank is not really big enough for any c/a cichlids.

A female convict only gets 4 inches tops, so if she was solo a 20 gallon is fine.

I agree with Stanzzzz7, a 20 gal is just too small for an adult convict.
Its like putting it in a puddle.

The rule I use for for cichlids in my tanks, is 10 gallons of water minimum, per inch of adult fish, due to territoriality and aggression issues. In nature a pair on convicts might normally guard an area of about 200 gallons
So for me, a 60 gallon tank is bare minimum for a single pair where the male gets 6".
The old adage of an inch per gallon, only applies to fish like guppies, danios, or neons and the like, not cichlids.
