Possible order mistake

Well the guy didn't end up shipping the fish apparently. I got a label created notification but fedex said they do not have a package from the guy. He said they'd be delivered today, so I guess I'll be calling 1st thing this morning.
keep us posted, buyer beware/order here threads are always appreciated in my book.

Adam no one is crucifying you. I personally understand your concerns. But if nothing negative happen and it is a positive experience then it should be posted and recognized

I always try and give the benefit of the doubt when it is a mom 'n pop shop or even a none chain only game in town....problems happen especially this time of year.....like my mom always would say, "give someone a chance to make a first impression. Whatever the impression is, then decide if you like them."

I wasn't trying to be a jerk earlier, I just felt you were being a little pre-emptive.

Got him on the phone and he said he got them out yesterday but he knew they were having problems. Would get back with me within the hour after checking. FedEx said they got nothing
 
I'm a little confused, just checked their prices and I'm curious why you ordered them. His prices at a quick glance are all higher than what I would expect to pay retail. To add shipping costs on top just seems ridiculous.

For something as common as cardinal tetras why wouldn't you just buy them locally and save the hassle?
 
Our Cardinals are more expensive than his and are 2 hours away. About ready to call chase and tell them to cancel and I'll just drive to get them tomorrow
 
He says fedex messed up and they sat at the facility overnight. I told him I wanted to cancel the order and he said okay. We'll see.
 
I would also mention that cardinals are notoriously sensitive fish and that even healthy batches don't always ship well. When I worked at a LFS I always sourced my cardinals and neons from local suppliers as they always held up better. I also think that its hard to judge any supplier by the health of such a sensitive fish. He could have sent you the best batch of these little guys the world has ever seen, but if the delivery service mishandles the shipment (and they frequently do), then you could end up loosing half the batch and the seller would still be at fault.

Just my two cents
 
Ended up ordering through wet spot tropicals. Night and day difference of service

Yeah they had very good customer service and the order was flawless.

I can not get over this guy. FedEx said they never got anything from him yet he said they messed up and had the package sitting there. How are people like this in business? I guess people like me but some don't know otherwise.
