theres a link on velvet... I've never had a fish with velvet, and don't really have any first hand info, but the link might be helpful. Try doing this to confirm the diagnosis:

"Perhaps the most telltale symptom is the appearance of a velvety film on the skin that resembles gold or rust colored dust. The film may be difficult to see, but can be more easily detected by directing a beam of a flashlight on the fish in a darkened room. The parasite is most often seen on the fins and gills."

Its all in the link.

Good luck.

I haven't finished reading the thread )yet) but just wanted to point out that ich and velvet have to COME from somewhere and the JD & Oscar had been alone in the same tank for quite some time before you adopted them, didn't they? They couldn't have came to you with ich unless you exposed them to it at your house by adding unquarantined fish with them from a fish shop, etc. My guess is water quality also, you said your nitrates were 40 ppm 3 days after a 50% water change. So they'd been 80 ppm-that's super high.
Back to finish the thread.....

That looks like ich to me.

PS: You're tank is disgusting. Do a water change now. Read up on ich removal. Do another WC.

Then WC
It wasn't ich. The water was cloudy due to the Medication. Don't be an a**. :)

Anyway, IMO it was velvet, and using Pimafix worked. The parasites soon fell off as the days went by, and now all of the fish are doing fine. They are all up and swimming, eating, like nothing ever happened before. Next time I should just do what I think I should do my self, seems how I got a bunch of crap, shown above ^
Thanks for those who helped!
