I've had an established aquarium for 6 years and have never used anything else but I've also never really had anyone recommend anything else either. I've had the Oscar for 4 years now.I do highly suggest you get the API master fresh water test kit.
Ok I'll have to look in to that thank youI've had an established aquarium for 6 years and have never used anything else but I've also never really had anyone recommend anything else either. I've had the Oscar for 4 years now.
I just did a 100% Sundayin the mean time,. I would do large water changes, wither thats 50% twice a week, or a fin level once a week, fin level being 90%
No I hadn't completed a 100% change in a few years actually it's usually 50-75% every few months.do this every sunday?
50-70% water changes every few months couldn't possibly be keeping nitrates low enough in that tank. Weekly water changes are what you should be shooting for. Get a python or Aqueon water changer and it only takes 15 mins or so to do your water change. If your nitrates are really zero there's a chance you killed off all the beneficial bacteria during your 100% water change. Did you change out filter media when you did that big water change?
