I dont understand this? Is this a trick question??

Why would it be so cool to starve your fish to almost death?
These guys grow pretty fast with little food... to be that same size as when u bought him means your feeding maybe 1 bloodworm a week. Sorry but I dont see anything cool about this... starving suck (JMO, thats why I eat like 5 times a day:ROFL:)
haha yeah this kid has a sick obsession with starving his fish and keeping them tiny. he raggs on us cause the orinos are growing fast. wtf :screwy:

Starve my Cichla your kidding me.. Starve my fish wow.... wow.... what do you know about how i keep my fish and raise them that you come to such a conclusion? Please i want to know..:screwy:

I never "ragged" on you, I just asked why do you want your cichla so big so fast and how balance may be a key to their looks, but some of you took my simple question offensivley which wasn't even the intension.. and "ragged" on me .

FYI, if you read my post, I fed this guy once in the morning and once at night and once a week some of my self bred guppie feeders.

Ive raised quite a handful of cichla off of Bloodworms-Krill-Silversides and all of them are in their great normal happy selves. My biggest that i have kept is now pushing 10 and I've had him since 1in and ive never starved any of them.

infact I have a hunch on why mine may be growing slowly, have you ever though of higher temps lowering metabolism rates or amount of w/c per month or anything of that sort effecting this?

:Pikachu:

I have nothing against you.

Can't be healthy that he's that small. Is he in a betta bowl or something? Not sure why'd you want him to stay small either. They won't be blue until they get to size and at this rate, I'm not sure when/if that will happen.

higher temps increase metabolism of fish...................do you mean the other way around?

ya he looks super skinny! Give him to me! I'll fatten him up! I feed my baby cichla 3-5 times a day....sometimes more..depends if they're hungry.

3x:D

x4. I keep my pbass at 90*.. They digest, eat and grow like crazy. Bad water quality, little food, lower temps and no space cause pbass and other big tropical fish to stunt.

How do we know anything about how you keep fish... Your FIRST POST!!! THAT'S HOW.

hmm higher temps increase metabolism? i though they peak at like somewere in the 80's and anything above or below effects that.
