Nice setups Nativelover...You seem like you surf fish alot, im just getting started. Is there any baitcaster that comes in left hand retreive that you would recommend? Also do you know of any relieable websites that sell surf fishing tackle such as the impact shields you use in your pulley rig?

what size are you looking for? i know Abu offers some Lefties, cant remember which ones though. any 5500-6600 size would be fine for most surf fishing. they run $80-$150 depending on which one you get. Abu is about the Best reel you can use for surf. Cheap, reliable, easy to clean, parts available everywhere... where can i stop?

www.Breakawayusa.com has most of the supplies but they are short on lead right now.

ive got another set-up that i like for sharking, its simpler and ill make a diagram on Paint right now and have it up in a few.

also check out www.ffo-tackle.com for some good deals.

here ya go.. its not to scale.. lol. but it shows it. the ray in the bottom pic is hooked on that rig. you can kinda see what it looks like.

I'm constanly getting new lures and my grandfather and his friends always give me there old lures when they start running out of room for them(it's always funny when they give me one and I immediatly catch a fish with one) I literally have 4 large tackle boxes over flowing with lures. My foavorite lure of all time though is a cartruse white and red jointed lure, and an old red rubber worm I found when I was four years old.

TeChris - if you don't mind a heavier reel, an older Penn surfmaster is an amazing baitcasting reel that can't be killed and are cheap enough on Ebay. As nativelover said, Abu makes a good reel, I have several of their medium sized baitcasters that I love. For bigger game, I use lefty AVET reels, I think they make the nicest reels I have ever used over Accurate, Penns top reels, Shimano, etc.

Nativelover - Thanks for the websites, that 2nd rig is pretty much how I make mine but I just don't use a 2nd swivel behind the weight.

Mbhw- I found a Penn surfmaster 150 and I like the it looks but im afraid of it being to heavy for my taste and of how easy parts would be to come by.

I looking for a baitcaster for my Daiwa Emcast surf rod (10' MH 15-30lb) I can spend up to about $150. Im probably going to get a Abu but I don't know which one to get.

TeChris - the Penns are heavy, but any authorized dealer can get the old parts, heck even Penn themselves will usually send them or point you in he right direction.

As far as Abus go - you have to go see them in person to get a feel for what you like.
