Just syphon the fry out onto a 5g bucket, and dump them into a 20g long tank. Syphon works great, and wont harm the fry.

Generally would take care of there own brood.. so you really don't have to worry about it.. They get very aggressive and territorial when laying eggs.. and taking care of the young till they can fade for them selves. I'd say to leave them be and they'd fight off any other fish 10 times there size. I had one it went face to face with a Giant Gurami..

I no longer have a breeding tank for my cons. They are in my 150g cichlid tank. As soon as the fry are free swimming they are siphoned out.
