yeah its a D2. Awesome amp.

2004 Dodge Stratus RT

thanks

I should have elaborated.... The earlier D2s were kinda prone to spontanious combustion when not even in use. I think they fixxed them by the 2nd or 3rd generation though.

The one you have is one of the good ones. I saw one run at 1/16th of an ohm.... It worked at low volume. Made fire at high volume.... But what amp wouldn't when running that low and modded.

I bet it sounds like you have a gorilla trying to escape from your trunk at full tilt....

Nic....

Go to Termpro.com man. It's the only reliable car audio forum. May be SPL based but you can't get any closer to the pros then on there....

Cruchfield has "bass blockers" if you choose to run them off the deck.

Seriously though if you don't wanna 'F' up imaging you really need to keep everything that's up front on the front channels of the amp.

As far as the 35 watts.... Play with the crossover. They may be only 35 watts in full range but knock out everything under 100 HZ and they will suck up alot of what that amp has to offer.

#1 rule that is often not understood is that speakers die more often from NOT ENOUGH power then too much. They can't reproduce distortion so whenever the signal begins clipping (or distorting) that's when the speakers die, most of the time this happens when the volume continues going up and the amp is out of power OR people thinking that the "gain" knob is a volume knob..... IT ISN'T!!!!!

i know... i learned everything the hard way about 9 years ago... i think me and him are sitting down and im telling him the reason i stopped all this was because of stupid people(and lack of money for my own personal systems) either he changes this crap or im walking away... my buddy can do it.. this is really just a fricking joke.... i mean i could have put a thirds set of those components in where the 6x9s go... so either he changes this and designs it right or i walk... im not gonna stress myself out for pathetic junk... same amount of money could have bought some better stuff.. that would hit harder and also sound alot better.... joy of crutchfield is you can return everything...

build / install is off... i told him A find somebody to blow your crap up by hooking it all up or B pick things that will work together and dont be stupid or C let me design it...

i do not have time for stupid and i dont like dealing with it... so he will call me tomorrow and A is gonna ask me what to buy or tell me what he wants.... cause i found out tonight he bought stuff not even thinking about sound.. dont know if he wants pure SQ or more of loud spl...

anyway bump for more PIX....

so new set up is looking to be a complete alpine set up...all type R subs and speakers... im looking at there amps now to pick some for him...

I'll have to see if I can dig up an old photo of my subs and amps that were in my old Grand Cherokee.

I had 2 Sound Stream SPL 12's, Soundstream Reference Class 10.0 amp and a Kenwood Excelon amp. The door speakers were all 6.5" Infinity Kappas, components in the front, 2 ways in the back.

I wrecked my old jeep a few years ago and haven't had the chance to put the subs in my new one. One of these days I'll get to it, lol. I did happen to pick up a '98 5.9L Grand Cherokee sound bar recently for the trunk. I want to replace the factory 6.5" components on it first before I install it.

Aren't there better Alpine subs then Rs? Xs maybe? I've heard the Rs are prone to tinsel lead issues. I suppose it doesn't matter if there's warranty......

Unless something's changed Alpine doesn't have any decent sub amps.... :(

It might not be LOUD but should sound "good"..... If you're into that kinda thing....
