It's very controversial, the argument is in the 4/5th bar. If its one continual bar then it's ussually ST. If the bar is divided into 2 bars it's ussually an IT.
thats why ST.'s have 6 bars and IT.'s have 7 bars.

The second last bar isnt touching the bottom, almost there (look carefully), does that still count as a bar?

The first picture of this fish is definetly a Widebar. If you need explanation of why it is, you should learn more about Datnoides. End of story.

but the tail section have 3 bars.. IT have 3 bars and ST/NTT have 2 bars.. Can you justify that? :D

and also the whole fish got 7 bars.. which is 1 bar more than the usual ST/NTT :)

Like everyone says, you cant make a positive ID on a datnoide by its tail stripes alone. You have to get a whole look at the fish. In this case you can definetly see his middle bar sweeps back, also you can tell by his head shape. ST's usally have a more rounded head rather than a triangular like indo's do. Really, the tail stripe identification is misleading in the case of IT's and ST's. Also that chart has been named the "worse" datnoide ID chart. Hope that helps,Tanner

like others have said the tail part isn't the most reliable means of determinging widebar... that is what ppl looked for in the past when not a lot of info was out about tigers. and the bars ppl usually just count the bars on the body not the whole fish

my goal is to have all the different species of dat
