I would still say indo but a great looking one at that. The first picture would convince anyone its a widebar at first glance.

How would you be second guessing? If it is different on either side it's an indo

I guess ill give my opinion along with everyone else - the first pic is of an indo I agree with Pulcher that at 8 inches a wide bar should have a more rounded head (taller looking) then the pictured dat.

Tail stipes are not a deff way to determine. Indos have 3 stipes and ST have 2 MOST OF THE TIME, not always.

The picture posted by Pulcher is harder to determine but my guess is ST The side of it with the 2 bars in the middle do not reach the bottom as MOST IT do leading me to believe that the bar split when developing and should really be one big bar. Also there is only 2 stripes on the tail MOST IT's have 3, and finally the 2nd picture of this dat makes it look like the body of a ST (all of this leads me to GUESS it is a ST)

And there hasn't been any cross breeding between ST and IT at all. They cant even get 2 ST's to breed regularly they wouldnt be trying crossbreeding yet.

TCzelis. your right the tail stripes are not a definate way to determine species. this picture is a very good example of this.
But Almost all the time when they are that different on either side it's an indo. Those together (tail stripes and body pattern.) are ussually easy ways to differentiate from IT and ST
... the one side does look like a widebar I'll give you that. but the other side is definate Indo. which is what leads me to believe thats it is an Indo dat.

...and no, pulcher, I'm not an expert, I have just learned over the years how to differentiate the different species of datnoides so I can help give the proper i.d.'s to people like you. So obviously your not much of an expert either so who are you to test me with your childish antics.

So are you saying my dat that i have pictured is a indo? because i know what my dats are.

I am clearley testing your knowlege on dats since you claim to have so much of it. Not asking for a I.D.

Oh and by the way, TCZ got it right.

its possible of having 4 body stripe ST's .. which makes this even more complicated for ppl new to dats .

maybe they haven't crossbred ST's and IT's in farms.. but it is possible for them to have done so in the wild, since some locations are close to each other. its still a possibility thats why some ppl refer them as CT (controversial tiger)
