I have to agree with Miguel on his bird opinions. I researched parrots for 8 years before getting one. I wanted a grey. Changed my mind. I have 3 blue front amazons (all female) they range from saying a few words to very wordy. I have 2 yellow nape amazons (male) and I will put them against any bird for talking. Accents, clarity, tone of voice, sense of sentences (I am a pretty bird, are you going to work today? Are you coming over? I like pie, but not ice cream. It's friday, is it my birthday?) Both are also very feisty. One also has quite a vocabulary - in lebanese. I also have a mollucan cockatoo. He likes to spend his time breaking his cage apart. I have yet to find one he can't take apart. I've gotten good at welding.... I also have 7 padlocks on his cage. He makes intricate knots out of his string toys after they are shredded. He screams for 10 minutes every day at dusk and not a sound any other time. I have 2 female eclectus. They can out-talk the amazons hands (wings?) down. They also do sounds. They also imitate the other birds' voices so I am often not sure which bird is talking. I just lost an 18 year old green cheek conure. He talked - but not clearly. All the parrots are about 10-12 except the cockatoo who is 30. Then I have 15 cockatiels (several in their 20's) and 35 parakeets in a big cage (big) and then there are the canaries who sing all day and the finches who peep so loud you can't hear on the phone.
I have had birds for over 30 years. And having admitted that - I feel really old. Til I think about how I have raised fish for 40.....
I have to restart my computer then I can post pics.
