Here's me ghetto sock holder lol
My fish are far from monsters at the moment but they'll get there. The sump is a outdoor pond, all open with media and circulation pumps on there.

I like that sock holder. Great idea. I may go ghetto as well on the one I am putting together now.

Thank you!. The only thing I had to pay for was the filter socks lol everything else I had around the house. Except the media though. It works ha.
My sump has 2 one hundred micron filter socks.
Then the water goes over 60-70lbs of ceramics and back into the tank via 2 quiet one 6000 pumps for a 10x turnover.
The 2 large pothos plants will soon be in a over head sump. NOw they are in the main tank....but the roots are taking up too much room now.

Those pothos are crazy man. I know I said it before but dang.
, and G have your ever thought about putting the pothos in a 3-5gal bucket filled with hydroponic media with a drain hole on the bottom to drain back to the tank?Here's the sump I run on my 560. I to, wanted to get some pothos in there, but they'll block all the light.
Flow through this sump is only 400 gals per hr. Need more time for plants to suck up nitrate. Then I'm using an ultima 11 4000. with a dolphin pump flowing 4000 gals per hr. Catching most of the solid wastes.

Gangster those pothos are weird haha You should do as isde said, just put them in a bucket. Nice biologic media btw.
Burbon you would easily win in beutiful sump contest.. Are you using CO2 and fertilizers in it?
