tats usually up to 18 inches.
growth is very slow.
armatus gets up to 4 feet,in the wild.
grows fast.
both fish are new in the hobby so one cannot say for sure how big theyll get.
 
3 day update. just gobbled up some guppies. @ this point im calling it a TATmatus

From what you and DB said, I got a good idea on growth rate.
I'm moving some fish around and will have an empty 55G soon and was thinking of growing some tats or scombs.
I've hears scombs die before 12'' most of the time? Is that true?
 
the tail on one of mine is getting turning a dark color. i can't snap a picture of it though these guys are extremely active and fast.

does that help at all?
