I found it. He's 32" I think He's the second or third biggest kept on this site. I've only seen JohnPTCs as bigger or at least in the home aquarium. Public places should have bigger but not but much 40" is the largest they should get by planet catfishs' records.

I hope to maybe find him a friend but I won't entertain any that's less then 18" unless it's a color morph. and I don't think any exist.

he's currently got 585 gallons. it's 36wide but almost 11' long. I say almost b/c it's got roughly a 45 degree corner in it. one side is rougly 6' and the other is roughly 5'


the plan is to get a much larger tank built within 3-5 years. when My GATFs need a new home.
 
Dick.F is on this site. He has about 5 of them along with some huge Granulosus cats in a 1,000 gallon tank. His biggest niger is pushing 36" no joke. They are my all time favorite fish and thats my all time favorite tank. I will snap some better photos next time im there. These gentle giants are awsome.

mm.. polys niger is a freaking monster.. it's almost as long as her..
