That's not what I meant by throw the pellet in so it makes some noise

I got one of mine to take shrimp peice.. off of tooth pick but need a longer feeding stick to get the other ones to eat it..

That's an awesome step. My old big guy was a pain to get on to prepared food, but when I did he would hit it so hard that you could almost feel it outside of the tank.

Well IDK about an awesome step.. but it seems they won't eat anything that doesn't swim irratically.. Need to order some long clear feeding stick(s) online, then they should all eat shrimp peices. Can't wait.

Unbelievable grow rate on these btw.. I know mine are close to 5" already. I assume your guys are about the same pending when you got them.

Now that it's eating well it's growing quickly. I didn't feed a ton when it was on live only because I hate feeding live food. Now that it's on pellets it's growing quite well. As soon as it's big enough it's going into a 90 with a BGK so it can become monster.

Yeah I hear you on all that.. Live food stinks. Can't wait til we all have monster perch...

I mean in pattern, The ones you have have got real big blotches of coloration. The one below is a typical specimen from my area.
One more thing... they taste nice!

But the ones I see on this thread all have this redish color and the ones at my place lack this.

Not my fish but I suppose it's around 30cm.

They're all small right now, but when they get bigger, they'll lose their red coloring
