Umm, I was never able to breed him with a non spot female...... But some of the spawn definitely had a higher percentage of non spot or less spot fry. Unfortunately I was an idiot and sold him a couple months ago. But I did keep a female from him. So we'll see. What's interesting is that any I have seen or heard of without spots tend to be from the Rio Naranjo. This may be a coincidence, but it definitely is interesting.

Thanks for your reply. She's from Rio Naranja. We find it really intesting too.
We've put her with a male with out the spots, we'll put on up to date photos of the fry as they get abit bigger.

Yes all 4 are F1 Rio Naranjo ...
I can see why you might wonder though....,between the lighting in my tanks, the rate at which they are maturing the moods that they are in, Normal non breeding, pre spawning post spawning and fry care.. The same fish looks different frequently and they definitely often look different from each other.... Came home from work to some eggs.... Look at the female Before & After she dropped them...
