post your water monitors

hey monitors and fish, what are you using for substrate? is that calci sand?!?!?!??! id put in a dirt mix of some sort. or cypress mulch. give him some deeper substrate to burrow and dig
 
um no its english walnut shells i know i should get mulch for im but im in the middle of building a new endclosure for him which im gunna use mulch for and water monitors arnt burrowing monitors.. thanks for trying to help not trying to be rude cause i truly appreciate you trying to help =)

Did you even READ AT ALL ABOUT YOUR WATER MONITOR?
All monitors burrow.
Give it atleast a foot of substrate to burrow in.

Optimum size enclosure for a water would be 12'x8'x4'
4 foot depth for two feet of substrate.

Dude, come on.

Less stress, providing it a place to hide when it wants, excersize, natural behavior.
Dont deprive your animal of its needs.
 
i have a thick layer of dirt in there now
