Poster of Cichlids

I like it better this way than with old world cichlids included - very nice! Note that some of the latin names are incorrect. Here's what I noticed:

1) Red-head cichlid is Paraneetroplus melanurus (although many would go with Peratheraps synspilum).

2) Threespot Cichlid is Amphilophus trimaculatus

3) Pearlscale is Herichthys carpintis. 'Vontehillo' refers to a collection point, not the species name.

4) Jack Dempsey is Rocio octofasciata

5) False Firemouth (also known as the Blue Sifter) is more commonly placed in the genus Astatheros

6) Red devil is in the genus Amphilophus

7) Severum is in the genus Heros

8) You have the bocourti listed twice, once in the genus Cichlasoma and once in Herichthys. They are the same species, but their genus is uncertain and usually listed as "exCichlasoma"

9) Salvini cichlid is also generally listed in the genus "exCichlasoma".

Also, by convention only the genus should be capitalized. The species name should be lower case. You switch back and forth on your labels. But again, a very nice effort. Congrats!

Ok i'll change all the latin names , thanks for your help !

Nice

Looking good! I noticed two things that should be corrected (sorry if I sound like a nitpicker):

1) The fish shown above the name "black gullet cichlid" is Thorichthys aureum (or perhaps maculipennis). The name 'black gullet cichlid' is synonymous with yellow meeki, Thorichthys pasionis, located below.

2) The latin name with the yellowhump eartheater is incorrect. I believe you have Geophagus pellegrini pictured, not Paratheraps microphthalmus (which is correctly labeled on a nearby fish). Paratheraps micropthalmus also goes by the name Chuco micropthalmus - I'm not sure which is now considered more appropriate.

Hope this helps,
Ian
