i thinking keeping one ray and maybe some other tankmates like what swim at the top or middle MAYBE i could get a 5ft x 2ft tank , but the weigth is going to be a lot , i don't won't it to fall through the fall !!

i started with a 5'x2'x2' and quickly upgraded, for the reasons i said before about water quality. an the more fish you add the bigger the problem you will hav, rays eat loads and crap even more:nilly:.

when you say fall through the floor do you mean it will be upstairs? or is your downstairs floor boards sat on joists?

it will be upstairs on wooden joist and if i keep the ray by itself will it be able to say in the tank longer , i was thinking of some silver dollers but i will keep the ray by itself if needed.

and i can get a bigger filter

from a 6" wild ray to get to a 12"+ ray in good water conditions could be as little as 1 year to as much as 2years +, it really depends on the ray, they are all different. Some grow fast as hell and some take ages to grow.

i really dont think corner tank's make good ray tanks, i know you can get some really huge ones but once the ray hit's 12"+ they dont have much room in them.

if the ray hit adult size in 2 years i could get one becuase probaly i could upgrade then.

and the tank will be upstairs

it all depends on how fast it grows. what are you planning on filtering it with?

with the tank sizes you have said you will be able to keep it for a couple of years but for life you are going to need somthing bigger or sell the ray on.
