for tankmates maybe some sivler dollers something like that , some fish what swim in the middle or swim at the top , what would you think a good first ray what will stay in a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft for 2 years at least , i was planing to get a 5ft tank but the weight worried me so i think of getting a 4ft tank instead.

there are no rays that you can keep in a 4ft tank for 2 years. That ray that miles showed was plastic. He did alot of research and time into those stickies that you should read about rays and the different tanks they should be in. I feel that your quest to get a stingray will not be a viable task. You cant keep a tank big enough on the 2nd floor without the proper foundation being added.
