Potential?

The female hides in a piece of pvc and a clay pot. The driftwood is only for decoration. But the female layed the eggs right on the slate base of the driftwood this time. Next time I might take it out if I think that's the culprit from his head

Came home from dinner and she is literally dragging him around the aquarium by his nuchal hump. Divider is back up =\

I've breed so many different species of cichlids over the years and flowerhorns are so hit or miss. Hopefully they bred this time for you. Sometimes they come together and are peaceful together for months through several clutches of eggs. Other times they are great together for an hour or two and then the aggressive fighting begins. Often times when the lights go out and it gets dark. Then other times they seem so peaceful through the divider and then the divider comes up and the ruthless fighting begins instantly. Next time you can put a piece of slate near the divider and when she is getting ready to lay or starts laying you can pull the divider and watch them for the next hour or two. As she lays hopefully they don't fight too much and he fertilizes the eggs. If that doesn't work you can try sliding the eggs under the divider and see if he will fertile them that way. Always keep in mind that breeding Flowerhorns is all about patience. If you keep patience in mind you will be far less frustrated and more devoted during the more challenging times.

Thank you for the advice. Next time she spawns I will certainly try this out and see how it works. I've never had a female cichlid that was half the size of the male act like that. It was insane seeing that
