I've seen a green aro and Giant snakehead fight it out and they were the same size and the Aro abosolutely punished the snakehead big time! Almost killed the pooor bugger.
uhm.. probably a channa micro or.. yeah.. channa micro.. or tetraodon lineatus/leirus (mean little buggers)
no chichlid, p-bass or anything else will ever come close to the damage a snake head can do.. not saying that cichlids lack heart, they don't they just don't have the teeth to back up the attitude..
This would be a tough call for me. You have to think pound for pound so I do not know. I would say any fish with big teeth and jaw power is going to be at the top. No cichlids IMO could take on a Snakehead, Aimara, etc. I think it would mainly depend on temperment. If you could find fish with the kill all attitude and the same weight I would put my money on Piranha honestly. Their sheer ability to take big chunks out at will and how quick they are would be hard to take. A 10" piranha would be taking on a 14-15" so there is no real big advantage for the snakehead. I think it would be hard for a snakehead/wolffish to throw and whip around a fish of the same weight. Now that being said I know most Piranha are pussies and this would never happen. I would say pound for pound meanest most aggressive would be a Micro or Aimara. It would be a toss up for me. The only disadvantage I give to the Aimara is that it's teeth are not made for shredding like the Snakeheads. Just my opinion on it.
Now as i recall this thread from like 2 years ago or so..this for Toughest fish, not most tempermental, but one that can take the most beating and dish out damage as well, snakeheads have no armor to protect them, they simply attack, now the aimara is armored with thick scales and large teeth, IMO i think it can withstand a few attacks from a snakehead then strike, which once it gets a hold on the snakehead...the snakehead wont get away.
